How to Install the Judah News App
Seeing “App not installed as package appears to be invalid” when updating the Judah News app? Follow these steps to fix it in a few minutes.
Visual reference — the Android error
Common on Samsung, Pixel, and other devices when a security-certificate clash occurs with an already-installed build.
Why does this happen?
Signature Certificate Mismatch
Android requires updates to be signed with the same developer key. Installing a release build over an older testing build is blocked to protect your system.
App Version Conflict
Installing an older APK over a newer one (a downgrade), or an overlapping package name, triggers this installer warning. Android does not allow direct downgrades.
Hidden App Profiles
The old version may still live in a separate space — Samsung Secure Folder, Xiaomi Second Space, a guest profile, or a Dual Messenger clone — causing package name conflicts.
Corrupted Installer Cache
The Android Package Installer sometimes keeps corrupt cache data from prior downloads. Clearing it lets the APK reload cleanly.
How to fix and install
Remove any existing copy of Judah News before installing the update.
- Go to Settings > Apps.
- Find and tap Judah News.
- Select Uninstall and confirm.
- If prompted, do not keep app data.
If the error persists, the app may still exist in a secondary workspace.
Reset the system installer to remove stale files.
Allow your browser or file manager to install the APK.
